Robert L. Lewis

I was born and raised in the big ole city of San Antonio, but I’ve lived in the Texas Hill Country for the past 40 years. You know, San Antonio is sort of the transition area between the beautiful rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country, and the Blackbrush and Mesquite of legendary South Texas, and I’ve been hunting in both areas since I was a kid. My Father was not a Hunter, but my Grandpa was and I was about 10 years old when my grandpa began taking me along with him on his Whitetail Hunting trips. These trips to the woods were exhilarating to me and were the most exciting experiences I had ever had. These experiences have left me with a permanent desire to spend as much time as possible in God’s great Outdoors. Since those early days, I’ve now hunted all over the State for Whitetails, Mule Deer, Axis Deer, Fallow Deer, Sika Deer, Javelina, Rams, Coyotes, Turkey, Dove, Quail, and of course, Wild Hogs.

My dad used to take us fishing on a small Lake in San Antonio and the day I caught a 2lb Catfish was the day that I became hooked on fishing too. I bought my first Fishing Boat when I was 22 years old and I’ve never been without a boat since. Over the years I have fished numerous Lakes and Rivers through-out the State, but for the last 20 years I have been insanely addicted to the fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast. I just can’t get enough of the Salt life and diversity of Fish Species that inhabit the Bays of the Gulf of Mexico. I am a Christian man who loves the Lord and believes that He deserves all the Glory for the good things that happen to me in His Great and Beautiful Outdoors.

Danny Webb

My name is Danny Webb but my buddies often refer to me by nickname, Bucksnort.

I was born and raised in East Texas and grew up on the Hillebrandt Bayou outside of Port Arthur. My brother and I were taught at a very young age how to fish and hunt by the Webb men and women in our life. I often recall the days of my youth fishing, frogging, gators and hunting swamp rabbits on the bayou. As I grew my summers were spent at my Aunt and Uncle’s rice farm and cattle ranch in Katy, Texas where I learned the lessons of what hard work was all about. I’m pretty sure when I learned how to walk I also learned how to fish. My passion for bass fishing was strong to say the least. I would save my money as a kid to join B.A.S.S. and read those magazines over and over. Every bit of my allowance was spent on fishing lures. You think that a kid would look up to some famous sports star or celebrity but no, when I was a kid Bill Dance was my hero.

Growing up, we were always fishing in a saltwater bay or a lake somewhere in Texas. As I aged my love for the outdoors grew. I am a passionate hunter that targets whitetail deer, bird hunting and feral hogs. My wife and I hardly ever buy meat from a grocery store, most of our meals are made at home from wild game and fish we’ve caught. If I had to pick which animal I loved to hunt most it would be the old Tom Turkey. There is nothing like being in the silent woods and the gobble of a big tom breaking the stillness at 20 yards behind you. My favorite target fish is still the largemouth bass but I do not limit myself either and love all types of fishing. God and family are the most important things in my life and he always gets the kudos. I am Blessed to be a part of the team here at Lone Star Surf & Turf Adventures and look forward to things to come.

I always tell people that I can stand on my porch in New Braunfels and everything I will ever need is somewhere between there and the southern tip of Texas. My family, a deer lease in George West and the Texas coast.

I was born and raised in South Texas around Live Oak County. My family is one that considers hunting season to be sacred and some of my earliest hunting memories involve sitting in a tree stand with my dad on that first weekend in November or a home-made deer blind with my grandpa when our “one week of winter” showed up. I vividly remember watching my grandpa hit a dove with a rock from a homemade sling-shot he had fastened out of surgical tubing or spot-lighting for hogs. I was never one of those kids that played video games as I preferred to be outside whether it be hunting or fishing. My grandmother used to bring me dinner on the pier in the evenings because I just wouldn’t come inside. My passion for the outdoors has shaped who I am, and I been Blessed to spend time around some great people. I honestly believe that you can learn a lot about someone’s personality by spending time with them in the field or on the water. I have been fortunate to go on some fantastic hunts including elk hunting in the Gila National forest, pheasant hunting in South Dakota and even a safari in South Africa. To this day my uncles and cousins meet up for an annual bow hunt in Castroville and this is a trip that we look forward to all year long. Although I absolutely love hunting, my passion is the Texas coast and I consider the Lower Laguna Madre to be home waters. Any available weekend you can find me chasing trout and redfish along the lower coast. This passion started on the shores of Lake Corpus Christi fishing with my “Papo” and the fire has been burning ever since. As passionate as I am to be on the water, the feeling is amplified when I see the torch being passed to my three children. It is a blessing to be able to teach them as I was taught and watch them feel the rush of catching fish and being able to see that they appreciate the time on the water with family. Just like sitting around a camp-fire after a hunt, these are the memories that we owe to the next generation in hopes that the legacy lives on. A legacy that appreciates the outdoors!

My love for hunting began when I was very, very young.

My Dad began taking me hunting with him when I was just six months old, and he continued taking me with him all throughout my childhood. Some of my fondest memories, and simple life lessons were made and came from sitting with him in a 4'x4' box blind during deer season. My Dad and I still love to hunt together. We have both become hog hunters over the past several years. Today I live and work on my Family's cattle ranch near Forestburg, Texas. I am an avid hog hunter, and love to deer hunt as well. In the past several years I have began bow hunting, and that has opened up a whole new world of hunting for me. I love getting close to the game I pursue.

I also have taken on the challenge of filming all of my hunts. I can not imagine not having a camera in the woods with me. I get a thrill out of sharing my hunting experiences with the world. My largest hog to date weighed close to 400 pounds, and I have taken several close to 300 pounds. I do a lot of hog hunting at night and enjoy the many challenges hog hunting provides. I am very blessed to have a wonderful wife, Andrea (Bowgal), who really enjoys hunting and the outdoors. We have two beautiful girls, Reagan 4, and Logan 2. I am planning on taking them hunting with me when they get older and creating lifelong memories with them, just like my Dad did with me.

I harvested my first Deer at age 10...

I was born and raised on Canyon Lake in the Texas Hill Country. My dad had a passion for being outdoors. He started takin me fishing just as soon as a life jacket fit me well enough to stay on me. Before the age of 10, I had already learned to catch Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Stripers and White Bass. We've always had a boat or two or three, and we also spent several weekends a year fishing along the Texas Coast. There I developed my own passion for the hard fighting, rod bending action of the Red Drum and Black Drum. I don't know, there was just something about the battle with these fighters that has kept me anxious to spend time on the Texas Bays.

By the time I was 5 years old, I had already started tagging along with Dad on Hunting trips. He wasn't going to let me hunt though, until he was certain that I was responsible enough to handle all that goes with it. So, for several years, I sat in Deer Blinds with him and listened to him talk about what the animals were doing and why. He was always trying to share some of his experiences with me and had a great gift of making our time together very interesting! Although I seemed to always fall asleep in the Deer Blind right about the time the animals were ready to move around.

By the time I harvested my first Deer at age 10, I had already learned to pattern Deer, to judge their age and size and how to make an ethical shot. Since then, I have harvested Whitetails, Axis Deer and Hogs.

I also enjoy Dove hunting! I am grateful for growing up in the Outdoors and I assure you, as the years go by, my passion continues to grow.
